This time, I will introduce you to Yakumo Shrine in Sakata.It is a shrine 5 minutes from Sakata Station.It was founded in 1565. It is also called cucumber ”Kyuri- tennousan”, and it is said that you can have a healthy year by offering cucumbers at festivals and receiving and eating the cucumbers you prayed for. It is said that there are benefits such as bad luck, health, and healing. It has a charm and a red seal, and the red seal has a cucumber mark on it!Please visit when you want to visit the shrine or refresh your mind. The place I will introduce this time is Sakata's confectionery manufacturing company.Since its establishment in 1954, we have taken a method of consistent production of the entire process from milling rice to rice crackers dough making, packaging, and shipping at our own factory. In the factory, Shonai's rice making now and in the past, a corner where you can learn the bean knowledge of sembei, and old mechanical equipment that tells the story of history are on display. It is also said to be the longest factory tour in Japan with a total length of 545 meters.You can not only learn about the history of sembei but also look back on it. In addition to visiting the factory, you can also buy senbei-yaki experience and souvenirs at the cafe on the second floor.
